Visa Assistance

Prior to traveling to Japan for SCIS&ISIS2022 in Mie prefecture, please review the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan website (see Ministry of Foreign Affairs link: https://www.mofa.go.jp/j_info/visit/visa/short/novisa.html) to clarify your visa requirements.

Visa procedures are usually processed in about two weeks from the date of application. However, this process will vary depending on the country, region, COVID-19 situation, and other circumstances. If required, therefore please be sure to apply for a visa that provides a sufficient time frame for your participation (a few months are needed in general).
If you need invitation letters for your visa application, please contact Dr. Woo ()with the following information and items.

  1. Filled VISA Questionnaire form(s) (Download HERE)
  2. Certificate of employment or enrollment (electronic copy)
  3. Travel itinerary/receipt (electronic copy)
  4. Confirmation of your hotel booking (electronic copy)

Invitation letters should only be issued to Speakers/Presenters and Committee members who have paid the required registration fee in full. When you plan to travel with your family and/or students who do not present any papers, you should apply for visas together.
