Call for Participation

Dear Colleagues,

We would like to cordially invite you to participate in the 6th International Conference on Soft Computing and Intelligent Systems, and the 13th International Symposium on Advanced Intelligent Systems, SCIS-ISIS2012, to be held in Kobe, Japan on November 20-24, 2012. SCIS-ISIS 2012 is the flagship international conference of Soft Computing in Asia, that attracts several hundred participants all over the world. We strive to foster an open and lively scientific forum by bringing together researchers, engineers and practitioners with diversified backgrounds to discuss and disseminate the latest state-of-the-art achievements, thought provoking challenges and potential future directions in many different aspects. Our program is designed to maximize feasibility and satisfaction of participation at all levels in different ways.

Language.

English is our official language of communication. Asian languages (e.g. Japanese, Korean and Chinese) may be available as a LIMITED assisting service of web announcement and E-mail correspondence. In case of any conflicts, English communication should be considered official.

Organized session proposal.

Interested organizers should prepare the following information and submit online. Alternatively, our Program Co-chairs (Special Organized Sessions) may contact and ask you to consider organizing some session(s) -- to assure broad participation from related subjects and fields.

    1. Session title.
    2. Organizer(s) (name, affiliation and E-mail address).
    3. List of at least three (3) papers (tentative titles and their authors).
    4. Presentation mode: oral or poster.

Full paper.

Authors are invited to prepare full papers of four (4) to six (6) pages (maybe extended up to eight (8) pages but subject to an additional fee) in IEEE style including results, figures, and references. All full papers should be submitted online. Full papers will be rigorously and competitively peer reviewed. All accepted full papers will be published in the conference proceedings and archived in IEEE Xplore (Pending Approval). Paper awards will be prized to outstanding full papers. In addition, revised and extended versions of selected papers will be invited to post-conference publication such as books and special issues of quality journals. For the readability assurance, English proofread service by qualified editors will be available upon requests from the authors. Full papers may be asked to reduce their length to be short papers when necessary.

Short paper.

Authors are invited to prepare short papers of two (2) to four (4) pages in IEEE style including results, figures, and references. All short papers should be submitted online. Short papers will be peer reviewed in a comprehensive manner. All accepted short papers will be published in the conference proceedings.

English proofread service (full papers only).

Full papers may be proofread by qualified editors, upon requests from the authors. This proofread is NOT a part of the peer review, thus is NEVER used for or against the acceptance decision making. The results will be returned electrically together with the peer review reports. Authors are responsible to (or not to) reflect the results together with suggestions from peer reviewers. In case of conflicts, authors should consider comments from reviewers more so than those from editors. When too many requests are placed, only selected papers will be proofread.

Presentation.

All accepted papers (full and short) will be invited to the conference presentations. Authors may request their preference from the following:

    * Oral on-site presentation (available for full papers only).
    * Oral teleconference presentation (available for full papers only).
    * Poster presentation (available for both full and short papers).

All authors in an organized session should request the same option in consultation with the organizer(s). While the program committee will try their best to respect all the requests, please be aware that not all can necessarily be accommodated due to various constraints for the conference program development. Presentation awards will be prized to outstanding presentations.
